History

Since 1986, the non-profit Association Rovere d’Oro organizes the International Competition of Instrumental and Vocal Execution “Rovere d’Oro Prize”, a springboard for young talents. Over the years, the Competition grew, reaching the threshold of 400 competitors from all over the world during the last editions. Chairperson of the Association was, until 2005, the lamented writer Gina Lagorio with the precious help of Mrs Rita Romani Arimondo, now Chairperson of the Association. The large number of juries’ members from different Countries is an additional evidence of the international significance of the Competition.

The Rovere d’Oro dues its success to an efficient organization that creates a friendly but also stimulating atmosphere, to the awarded prizes, among which the “Rovere d’Oro” is the main one, but mostly to the bursaries offered and to the prize-concerts awarded to the winner of each section.

Currently, the Competition is one of the few – if not the only – international competitions in the Ligurian region that keeps high quality standards and a large number of competitors. The aims of the Association for the future are ambitious. First of all, the promotion of art and music among young people, in order to consolidate the role of Italy in the world and the principles of a real European integration that can be created also through the rich culture of music.
